     Email Services Configuration

Sirius Control Services is now using Google Apps for email services. This will afford email users with more capacity on the server end (7 gb and climbing) along with greater stability. Switching from our previous services will require a few changes on your client software (Outlook, Thundervird, etc.)

First, you will need to login to your email account at the following appropriate URL:

Next, Choose "Settings" from the menu in the upper right hand corner:

Next, Choose "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" from the "Settings Menu"

Next, In the "POP Download" section, select "Enable POP for all mail (even mail that's already been downloaded)". You may click on "Learn more link to learn more about POP.

Next, if you wish to delete messages from server, choose "delete ..... Mail's copy" from Item 2 Pull down

OR, if you wish to keep messages on server, choose "keep ..... Mail's copy in the inbox" from Item 2 Pull down

OR, if you wich to archive the mail on the server, choose "archive ..... Mail's copy" from Item 2 Pull down

To configure you client software for POP (Outlook, Thunderbird, Blackberry, etc. Click on "Configuration Instructions":

Next, if you wish to use IMAP on your client email program, "Enable IMAP", otherwise, "Disable IMAP". You may click on "Learn more link to learn more about IMAP.

E-Mail Accounts tab Summary:

General Settings
Your Name: (Your Name Here)
E-mail address: (your email address, including '@[domain name]') *
User Name: (your Gmail address, including '@[domain name]') *
Password: (your email password)
Remember password: (optional)
Log on using Secure Password Authentication: disabled

Domain name is one of the following:

cajun.org,
siriuscontrols.net,
siriustechnologies.net, or
louisianateaparty.com

 
Incoming Server (POP3)
Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.gmail.com
Incoming server port: 995
This server requires a secure connection (SSL) enabled
 
Outgoing Server (SMTP)
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com
Outgoing server port: 465 or 25
This server requires a secure connection (SSL) enabled
My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication: enabled
Use same settings as my incoming mail server: enabled
Server Timeouts (Greater than 1 minute, we recommend 5)
Leave a copy of messages on the server (Optional)
